The dual-port Mitel Networks 5240 IP Appliance is a web-enabled IP phone with a large backlit display that delivers one-touch access to web-based applications and services including HTML and XML browsing. It is targeted towards users who require real-time access to advanced voice and multimedia applications and services. With it, users get superior telephony functionality, support for infrared PDA integration, as well as one-touch access to fully personalized IP applications and services. The 5240 IP Appliance is designed for managers, executives and professionals who need PC and PDA integration as well as real-time access to unified communications, speech recognition, and so on. With its large 320 x 240 backlit display, the 5240 IP Appliance provides a visual interface to voicemail, web browsing with personal bookmarks, Internet applications, directory management for up to 50 entries, and more. The 5240 IP Appliance includes an integrated infrared display adapter (IrDA) that enables users to speed dial calls from their PDA address book and to program any IrDA-equipped IP appliance or phone on the network as their own extension with fully personalized functionality and features. The 5240 IP Appliance is one in a series of IP phones designed to meet the diverse communication needs of users across the enterprise – from affordable entry-level IP phones to sophisticated network appliances.
